Western Avenue, Acton

A residential development for 149 apartments on a prominent two acre site fronting the A40 at Acton, London.

Acting on behalf of Clearview Homes Limited the scheme is designed to provide a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments in four linked blocks grouped around westerly facing courtyard gardens.

The blocks step up from 3 to a maximum of nine storeys and their massing shields the site and the nearby houses from the traffic noise on this busy highway. Acoustic modelling has shown that a 5Db reduction in ambient noise will benefit the properties which fall within this acoustic shadow.

The scheme has a full basement to provide accommodation for 90 cars, generous cycle parking, an energy centre and refuse store thus leaving the ground level gardens surrounding the scheme uncluttered.
